Who is Dr. E?
Sit! Stay!
Let me introduce myself!

Dr. Erene Mihalas
I'm a chiropractor with a passion for animals and the humans that love them. Chiropractic is more than a job for me, it's a way of life. I have been adjusted for over 3 decades, so I am no stranger to the chiropractic culture. Growing up, I was rarely sick and never had an ear infection (shout out to my mom for starting me young)! Fast forward to sports age. I was injured often with sprains/strains and constant bruises from seemingly nowhere. My injuries were brushed off by the allopathic community as "being clumsy". Little did I know, I had Ehlers Danlos Syndrome (EDS), a connective tissue disorder associated with hypermobility. After over a year of Physical Therapy and medication for my chronic knee pain, I told my chiropractor I was going to PT for my knees not realizing chiros treated more than spines. I was evaluated and had my knees adjusted for the first time. After a week of treatment, I was walking without knee pain; that adjustment changed my life! I knew at that time I was going to be a chiropractor.
Animal Lover
I was called to work with animals from a young age. I would tell people that I wanted to be a "doggy dentist" when I grew up. When I was 5 years old, my parents asked me if I wanted a sibling or a dog. As an only child, getting my first dog taught me what it truly meant to love and be loved by an animal. My dog and I did everything together until the day she passed in my arms. I grew up in WI (yes, I'm a proud cheesehead!) and was fortunate enough to be exposed to horses and developed a love for riding. I would spend as many days as possible at the barn during the summer.
Horsemanship takes a toll on the body- both the animal and the human. Cue the future Chiropractor in me! Alas, the perfect combination of working with animals and humans in a holistic manner. The bond that we create with animals in unmatched! To me, animals are more than pets, they are family!

Education
I earned my Bachelors of Science in Biology, minoring in Chemistry from Northeastern Illinois University in Chicago, IL. Although I started Chiropractic school in IL, I ultimately transferred and graduated from Logan University in Chesterfield, MO with my Doctorate of Chiropractic. I completed 100 hours of acupuncture while attending Logan, and am working to finish an additional 200 hours to earn my diplomate in Medical Acupuncture. I completed my Webster certification, a pregnancy specific technique, through the International Chiropractic Pediatric Association (ICPA) after graduation. I completed Craniosacral Therapy (CST) certification by Lori Hendrickson in 2022. My 220+ hours of Animal Chiropractic education was completed at Parker University in Dallas, TX. I am Certified in animal chiropractic by the Animal Chiropractic Certification Commission (ACCC) in the American Veterinary Chiropractic Association (AVCA).
